Getting down to a nice expression (2011)

Using eye tracking technology used at Loughborough University to study the attention of the gaze, we created a video installation that used a lecture as source material. 'Getting down to a nice expression' acted as a two-way view, exploring the familiar lecture theatre dynamic. Combining pre-recorded footage of a mathematics lecture with eye tracking data captured from both the students’ and lecturer’s perspectives, the work re-focused attention on the dramatic, sensory and performative elements of a lecture theatre scenario.
